#trust30 May 31 Entry 15 Minutes to Live

15 Minutes to live
Writing prompt
#trust30

I now have 15 minutes to write the story that must be told. I will focus on the things that are important to me right now. My wife and children know I love them. They know I did what I was able to achieve in the span of years I was allotted.
So now I will spend a few minutes talking about what I see that needs some adjustment.
Politics
Government
Energy
Water

Energy is the key I feel. Without a resource to replace the Peaked Oil, all will fall into oblivion and a worse apocalypse than any envisioned, and I read a lot of Speculative Fiction, will befall the species. It is an Extinction Level Event. For those that do not know, that means something that wipes out things, like 2008 wiped out America as a First World Nation, the Asteroid that wiped out the Dinosaurs, The Depletion of Oil that wipes out Human Civilization.

Without the energy to transport food, death.
Without the energy to create sustainable living structures, death
Without the energy to research alternatives to the depletion of natural resources, death
Without energy to reach into space to bring back needed raw materials for enterprise, death
Without energy to clean the oceans and other fouled waters, death
Without the energy that is needed, death for current civilizations

Odds are the human species will endure. It is just the end, the extinction, of what is known now and the previous 10,000 years of history up to this point. Come 3, maybe 4 generations, and the names of this time will be forgotten, along with all the potentials of today and all that live now.

Food, water, overpopulation, depletion of natural resources, all will contribute to the downfall of the Modern Age. Still without some form of energy to replace what has been squandered, I honestly feel there will not be a follow on scenario. The encore of Modern Man will fade away.

This is the swan song for Western Civilization. Rome felt this, The Pharoahs felt this, the Sumerians, the Mesopotamians, the Phonecians, the Ottomans, the Great Caliphates of the Deserts, all felt this doom come upon them. The Etruscans had elaborate death rituals, what will Today have once the curtain starts setting here, within the lifetime, of my mid 20s children. They will see it all collapse, where I am not.

Sorry.
